On Tuesday, not a lot happened until later in the day. In the morning, as per usual, I studied Korean (어제 아침에서 나는 한국어를 공부했어요). Once we survived class (which barely happened), a group of us decided to try eating at the burger place on campus.
Best. Idea. Ever.
I ordered a 불고기 버거 (bulgogi, seasoned meat, burger) and it was so delicious! I only remembered to take a picture after I'd started eating, but... Oh, well. I also ordered a kiwi bubble tea, which made the hot day a little bit more tolerable!
For culture class, we were told to meet at 광화문역 (Gwanghwamun station) so that we could all venture to the King Sejong Museum together and learn about the history of the Korean language. After all, King Sejong was the inventor of the 한글 (hangeul) system, which Korean words are based off of... essentially, it's the Korean "alphabet."
We had a great time learning about Korean culture and history!
After we explored the museum and attempted to write our names in calligraphy (which I failed terribly - calligraphy is obviously not my forte), we made our way outside the museum and found a kiosk where you could try on 한복 (hanbok, traditional Korean clothing) for free! Inevitably, we all succumbed to the temptation to try on hanbok and took some photos! Although we attempted to go explore 경복궁 (Gyeongbokgung Palace), as we made our way to the front gate, we realized that it is closed on Tuesdays... But, my language exchange partner and I are planning on going to visit some time next week! I'll be sure to take a lot of pictures!
In loosely-related news, here's Kyuhyun's ballad song, "At Gwanghwamun" ~~
Please listen (한번 들어 보세요)!
(See what I did there? I snuck Super Junior into a conversation by relating them to the place I visited AND I applied the Korean grammar I learned yesterday. BOOM.)
