The next day, Saturday, the two of us decided to go to the Busan aquarium! We grabbed lunch first, however, at a local restaurant that served a food which was the "signature dish" of Busan -- 돼지국밥 ("dwaeji gukbap," a soup containing pork and rice).
To this day, I still insist that this meal was the BEST of all those I've had here in Korea. It was absolutely delicious. The pork was so tender and the broth had a wonderful flavor that made you feel revitalized and content. Adding green onions and cellophane noodles to the dish only made it that more delicious. As I had gotten a little bit tired of the spicy/sour staples of Korean food, this dish was all the more pleasant due to it's non-spicy, hearty flavor. If only I could go back and have some more...!!
After the wonderful lunch, we headed to the aquarium, taking pictures of all of the creatures we could find! We also took a "boat tour," able to feed some fish and meet a sea turtle up close and in-person! It was a little scary, however, because the water also contained some sharks... Thankfully, we were fine!
Although I had a wonderful time at the aquarium, I really enjoyed the next part of the day -- Busan Tower! Similar to Namsan Tower, which gives you a wonderful view of Seoul, Busan Tower provided me with the ability to see the city from up high and take some stunning photos. We also had our portrait taken and framed while we were there (super touristy, but cute!)
At some point, I can't quite remember when it was (I think after the aquarium?), we also decided to do a bit of shopping. I got some cute clothes, finally!
Because it was so hot, I was exhausted after Busan Tower and we just decided to grab some dinner (which turned out to be a salad for me - something I'd missed dearly!) and turn in early that night. But, I had a bit of trouble sleeping. After all, I would be meeting Hyunwoo's family tomorrow and I was so nervous!
